Send subscription revenue to SplitMetrics Acquire

RevenueDot sends subscription revenue to SplitMetrics Acquire as a webhook, because SplitMetrics publishes no event API for it. It POSTs RevenueCat's webhook body to the URL SplitMetrics support gives you. The body carries the customer's Apple Search Ads attributes, which SplitMetrics matches on, and every event type except experiment enrollments is sent.

What teams do with it

  • See what each Apple Search Ads campaign earned in SplitMetrics Acquire.
  • Tie trial starts and renewals back to the keyword and ad group that brought the install.
  • Include sandbox purchases while testing, marked environment: SANDBOX.

What RevenueDot sends

  • RevenueCat's webhook body, unchanged: {"api_version":"1.0","event":{...}} as JSON in a POST, with the optional Authorization header value.
  • Every event type except EXPERIMENT_ENROLLMENT, sandbox included.
  • Revenue fields: price in US dollars (negative for refunds), price_in_purchased_currency, currency, product_id, store and transaction_id.
  • Attribution in subscriber_attributes: $mediaSource, $campaign, $adGroup, $keyword, $appleAdsCampaignId and the other Apple Search Ads attributes, which RevenueDot stores from the SDK's AdServices token.
  • Sandbox events carry environment: SANDBOX in the body.

How to connect SplitMetrics Acquire to RevenueDot

  1. 01

Ask SplitMetrics for the webhook URL

SplitMetrics Acquire shows a Client ID for RevenueCat, not a URL. Ask SplitMetrics support for the URL that receives RevenueCat webhooks for your Client ID.

  2. 02

Turn on Apple Search Ads attribution

In your iOS app, call enableAdServicesAttributionTokenCollection() so RevenueDot saves each customer's Apple Search Ads campaign.

  3. 03

    Open the integration

In RevenueDot, open Integrations → SplitMetrics Acquire.

  4. 04

    Enter the URL

Paste the SplitMetrics Acquire webhook URL, and the Authorization header value if SplitMetrics gives you one.

  5. 05

Why SplitMetrics Acquire connects through a webhook

SplitMetrics' guide asks RevenueCat customers for a Client ID and documents no public URL behind it (SplitMetrics: link RevenueCat, checked October 2026). So RevenueDot sends the webhook body to the URL SplitMetrics support gives you. The customer's Apple Search Ads attribution comes from the same data that powers RevenueDot's Apple Search Ads report.

How SplitMetrics Acquire deliveries are retried, logged and replayed

  • Retries: timeouts, 408, 425, 429 and 5xx answers retry after 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 minutes. Any other 4xx fails at once, because sending the same request again cannot work. Fix the setting, then replay.
  • Delivery log: each delivery shows the request with every secret replaced by [redacted], the partner's answer, the HTTP status, the time taken and the number of attempts.
  • Skipped, with the reason: when there is nothing to send, such as a missing device ID, the delivery is marked skipped and says why. Retry sends it after your app sets the attribute.
  • Replay: Replay failed resends failed and skipped deliveries in bulk.
  • Sealed credentials: keys and tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the server and never shown again. The dashboard shows only the last four characters.
  • The URL is secret: it may carry your Client ID, so it is sealed like a credential and scrubbed from the delivery log.

FAQ

SplitMetrics Acquire and RevenueDot

How do I send subscription revenue to SplitMetrics Acquire?

SplitMetrics shows a Client ID for RevenueCat, not a URL. Ask SplitMetrics support for the URL that receives RevenueCat webhooks, paste it under Integrations → SplitMetrics Acquire in RevenueDot and click Connect SplitMetrics Acquire.

How does SplitMetrics match a purchase to a campaign?

By the Apple Search Ads attributes in the body's subscriber_attributes. RevenueDot stores them when your iOS app turns on AdServices token collection.

Does RevenueDot send sandbox purchases to SplitMetrics?

Yes by default: the integration's Environment is both production and sandbox, and each sandbox event carries environment: SANDBOX. Narrow the Environment filter to production if you want only real purchases.

Is there a RevenueCat SplitMetrics Acquire integration alternative?

Yes. RevenueDot sends the same webhook body from an open source backend you can self-host. SplitMetrics' own steps for RevenueCat are in its help article, checked October 2026.
