Solution

Add subscriptions to an AI-built app with Claude Code, Cursor and other agents

To add subscriptions to an app built with an AI agent, connect the agent to RevenueDot's hosted MCP server at https://mcp.revenuedot.app/mcp, install the add-subscriptions skill, and let it set up products, entitlements and the SDK's proxy URL. The agent signs in with OAuth, and you choose what it may do.

Free up to $10,000 a month in tracked revenue. Works with the RevenueCat SDK you already ship.

Hosted MCP server

One connector for Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode, Cursor and other MCP clients.

Agent skills

add-subscriptions, migrate-from-revenuecat, support-playbook, weekly-revenue-check and self-host.

llms.txt and Markdown docs

Agents read the docs as plain text at revenuedot.app/llms.txt and in the docs' Markdown copies.

You set the limits

Read only, read and change, or money actions, per project.

Steps

How to add subscriptions to an AI-built app with RevenueDot

  1. 01

    Create a free Cloud project

Start free on Cloud. Add your store apps, or a Test Store app to start without store accounts.

  2. 02

Connect your agent to the MCP server

In Claude Code run the command below, then /mcp to sign in. In Cursor and other clients, add a streamable HTTP MCP server with the same URL.

  3. 03

    Install the skills

Run npx skills add revenuedot/agent-skills to add the workflows to any agent, or install the plugin in Claude Code or Codex.

  4. 04

Ask for plans and a paywall

For example: set up monthly and annual Pro plans for my iOS and Android apps behind a pro entitlement, and add a paywall to my app.

  5. 05

    Check the SDK change

The agent adds the RevenueCat SDK and sets the proxy URL to https://api.revenuedot.app. Review the diff, then test with a Test Store key in a debug build.

Terminal

Connect Claude Code to RevenueDot

The assistant opens a RevenueDot page where you sign in, pick one project and choose what it may do. The same server backs the RevenueDot plugin for Codex and the connector for Claude. The ChatGPT directory listing is not live yet, so add it as a developer-mode connector.

Add the hosted MCP serverterminal
claude mcp add --transport http revenuedot https://mcp.revenuedot.app/mcp
/plugin marketplace add revenuedot/agent-skills
/plugin install revenuedot@revenuedot

Permissions

What the agent can and cannot do

ChoiceThe assistant can
Read onlyRead the catalog, customers, events, transactions, webhooks and metrics
Read and changeAlso create products, entitlements and offerings, grant and revoke access, set customer attributes and manage webhooks
Money actionsAlso extend, cancel and refund subscriptions and make Test Store purchases. A separate checkbox

The connection is a secret API key limited to one project and the access you chose. Delete it under API keys to disconnect.

Context

What agents read: skills and llms.txt

  • Skills: add-subscriptions covers iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter. Others cover migrating from RevenueCat, answering a support ticket, a weekly revenue check and self-hosting.
  • llms.txt: revenuedot.app/llms.txt and llms-full.txt give the whole docs in agent-friendly text.
  • Markdown docs: every docs page has a plain .md copy.
  • REST API: an OpenAPI 3.1 reference, so an agent can call the API directly with a secret key.

Safety

Safety rules that keep the agent in bounds

  • No tool accepts a store key, a password or an API key from chat. Add those in the dashboard.
  • The assistant asks before it cancels, refunds or deletes. Check the customer and product it names.
  • Apple does not allow a server to refund or cancel. Cancel and refund work for Google Play subscriptions only.
  • Use a read-only key if you only want the agent to look.

FAQ

AI-built apps: questions people ask

Can Claude Code add subscriptions to my app?

Yes. Connect Claude Code to the RevenueDot MCP server with claude mcp add --transport http revenuedot https://mcp.revenuedot.app/mcp, sign in, and ask it to set up plans. The add-subscriptions skill guides the SDK code for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter.

How do I connect Cursor or ChatGPT to RevenueDot?

Add an MCP server of type streamable HTTP with https://mcp.revenuedot.app/mcp and choose OAuth. In ChatGPT turn on developer mode and add it as a connector. The ChatGPT directory listing is not live yet.

Is it safe to let an AI agent manage my subscriptions?

You choose the limit per project: read only, read and change, or money actions as a separate checkbox. The agent never needs store keys, and it asks before it cancels, refunds or deletes. Disconnect by deleting its API key.

What is llms.txt on revenuedot.app?

It is a plain-text index of the docs for AI agents, with a full version at llms-full.txt. Every docs page also has a Markdown copy, so an agent can read the exact steps.

Does an AI-built app need a backend for in-app purchases?

Yes, something has to verify store receipts and track entitlements. RevenueDot is that server, so the agent only adds the RevenueCat SDK and one proxy URL line, with no purchase backend to write.
