Send subscription events to Appstack

RevenueDot sends subscription events to Appstack as a webhook, because Appstack takes RevenueCat events that way. It POSTs RevenueCat's webhook body to the Webhook URL you copy from Appstack, with the Authorization Header value. Every event type goes out except experiment enrollments, and Appstack matches customers on $appstackId.

What teams do with it

  • Attribute subscription revenue to the campaigns that brought each customer.
  • Send purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds to Appstack from one backend.
  • Send sandbox events too, marked environment: SANDBOX, which Appstack keeps apart from production.

What RevenueDot sends

  • RevenueCat's webhook body, unchanged: {"api_version":"1.0","event":{...}} as JSON in a POST to your Appstack Webhook URL.
  • The Authorization header value you copied from Appstack, sent as the Authorization header.
  • Every event type except EXPERIMENT_ENROLLMENT, including INITIAL_PURCHASE, RENEWAL, CANCELLATION, EXPIRATION and BILLING_ISSUE.
  • Revenue fields: price in US dollars (negative for refunds), price_in_purchased_currency, currency, product_id, store and transaction_id.
  • Identity: $appstackId, the Appstack SDK's user ID, in subscriber_attributes, plus app_user_id. Appstack matches on $appstackId, so set it from your app.

How Appstack receives RevenueCat events

Appstack documents a webhook for RevenueCat, not an event API (RevenueCat: Appstack, checked October 2026). RevenueDot sends the same body to the same kind of URL, so Appstack reads it the way it reads RevenueCat's.

How Appstack deliveries are retried, logged and replayed

  • Retries: timeouts, 408, 425, 429 and 5xx answers retry after 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 minutes. Any other 4xx fails at once, because sending the same request again cannot work. Fix the setting, then replay.
  • Delivery log: each delivery shows the request with every secret replaced by [redacted], the partner's answer, the HTTP status, the time taken and the number of attempts.
  • Skipped, with the reason: when there is nothing to send, such as a missing device ID, the delivery is marked skipped and says why. Retry sends it after your app sets the attribute.
  • Replay: Replay failed resends failed and skipped deliveries in bulk.
  • Sealed credentials: keys and tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the server and never shown again. The dashboard shows only the last four characters.

FAQ

Appstack and RevenueDot

How do I send in-app purchase events to Appstack?

In Appstack open Integrations → RevenueCat and copy the Webhook URL and the Authorization Header. Paste them under Integrations → Appstack in RevenueDot and click Connect Appstack. Set $appstackId in your app.

Does Appstack need RevenueCat to receive RevenueDot events?

No. RevenueDot sends the RevenueCat-format webhook body itself, to the URL you copied from Appstack.

Does Appstack get sandbox events?

Yes, by default. Each carries environment: SANDBOX in the body, which Appstack keeps apart from production. Narrow the Environment filter to production to stop them.

Is there a RevenueCat Appstack integration alternative?

Yes. RevenueDot sends the same webhook body that RevenueCat's Appstack setup uses (checked October 2026), from an open source backend you can self-host.
