Ad monetized customers is the average number of customers per day who generated at least one ad revenue event. RevenueDot counts distinct customers with ad revenue on each UTC day, adds those daily counts and divides by the number of days in the period. It measures daily ad users, not all active users.
Formula
Ad monetized customers = (sum over days of customers with an ad revenue event that day) ÷ days in the period

Definition
For each UTC day, RevenueDot counts the distinct customers who have at least one rc_ads_ad_revenue event with a known customer. It adds the daily counts over the period and divides by the number of days in the period. The result is an average, shown with one decimal, so it can be a fraction. Days with no ad revenue count as zero.
A customer who earns ad revenue on seven days of a week is counted seven times in the sum, and the weekly average stays comparable to the daily value. For the current period, the days counted run up to now. Sandbox events are excluded.
Your SDK ad tracking sends the events to RevenueDot's /v1/events endpoint, from an ad network adapter or by manual capture. Filter or segment by app, country, platform and app version.
Find it in the dashboard under Analytics > Charts, or call GET /v2/projects/{project_id}/charts/ad_monetized_customers. The response has the same shape as RevenueCat's Charts API.
Worked example
Illustrative numbers for one week. Each row is the number of customers with an ad revenue event on that day.
| Day | Customers with ad revenue |
|---|---|
| Mon | 1,000 |
| Tue | 1,100 |
| Wed | 1,050 |
| Thu | 950 |
| Fri | 1,000 |
| Sat | 1,200 |
| Sun | 1,100 |
Sum = 7,400 customer-days. Ad monetized customers for the week = 7,400 ÷ 7 = 1,057.1.
Why it matters
This is the size of your ad-supported audience: how many people per day see ads that pay. Compare it with your active users to see what share of them earn ad revenue, and with your subscribers to see how many people see ads and not a paywall.
If it stays flat while installs grow, new users may not reach an ad placement. If it grows faster than ad revenue, each ad user earns less. Pair it with ARPDAU to separate audience size from revenue per user.
